Position: Sr. Full-Stack Software Engineer
Type: Contractor
Compensation: $50–$100/hour
Location: Remote — Global
About the Opportunity
micro1 is engaging highly skilled Full-Stack Software Engineers to contribute to an AI training project focused on software development, technical problem-solving, debugging, system architecture, and code evaluation.
The work involves creating, solving, reviewing, and validating challenging software-engineering tasks across both front-end and back-end systems. Experts may also work on translating complete software builds from one programming language into another while maintaining functionality, correctness, and overall system behavior.
This role requires meaningful hands-on experience across the full application stack. Candidates should be comfortable working across front-end and back-end systems rather than specializing exclusively in one layer.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and debug front-end and back-end application components.
- Implement user-facing features along with the services, APIs, and data models that support them.
- Trace requests and data across browsers, front-end applications, APIs, services, databases, and external integrations.
- Work effectively within unfamiliar repositories and understand existing application architecture.
- Diagnose failures involving application state, API contracts, authentication, persistence, networking, and deployment.
- Develop and evaluate software solutions across multiple programming languages.
- Translate complete coding implementations from one programming language into another while preserving intended functionality.
- Review AI-generated software solutions for correctness, completeness, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Identify technical issues and recommend appropriate improvements to application code and architecture.
- Validate solutions against functional and technical requirements.
- Apply strong engineering judgment when analyzing complex software-development problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
