Software Engineer – Research Platform
A leading quantitative investment firm is building out the research platform that powers how its quantitative researchers develop, test and ultimately deploy new trading strategies.
The engineering goal is to make that research loop faster, more accurate and more scalable: enabling researchers to run more experiments, backtest ideas faster and with greater confidence, and move successful strategies into production sooner.
You'll work on the distributed systems, data and compute infrastructure behind that platform, solving large-scale engineering problems with a very direct connection between the systems you build and the firm's trading performance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
