The Role
This role is for you if you thrive on variety and love tackling the messy, real world challenges that come from integrating software with hardware. You will also be passionate about bringing robots to life and about reliability. No two days will be the same, but you can expect to:
- Solve challenging software problems end to end: spec, implement, test and maintain large systems and high performance pipelines
- Jump into unfamiliar software domains at breakneck speed. One month you might be optimising real time algorithms, the next deploying the backend services that allow for smooth operations and fleet monitoring
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineers, product and customer teams to iterate and improve solutions
- Deliver real world impact today, using cutting edge robotics systems
About the Company
Our client is building robots that can handle the messy, unpredictable and chaotic real world. They believe that by deploying today, they reveal second order effects and edge cases that cannot be seen in the lab or in simulation. Their mission is to become the UK's go to applied AI robotics team, and they will go above and beyond to get there.
What they actually do:
- Build AI models and hardware that let robots work safely alongside humans, lifting, moving and getting stuff done better and faster
- Spend a lot of time on customer sites, to better understand and solve for the messy chaos of most environments
- Build, ship and deploy software that runs on real robots in live customer environments, not just in the lab or in simulation
- Think ten or more years ahead, reimagining manual labour and creating robots that become complementary assistants for labour intensive and physically demanding tasks

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
