Software Engineer - AI Developer

Contract 6-12 months
Remote UK
£550 - £600 per day

Build AI-powered products on Google Cloud.
I'm working with a well-known UK brand that is building a GCP-first platform with AI at its core. They are transforming customer service with AI agents across chat and voice.
They're looking for Software Engineers / AI Developers to join them ASAP!

What you'll be doing

  • Building and deploying applications, APIs, and microservices on Google Cloud
  • Developing AI features and agents using Vertex AI and Gemini, such as AI assistants, document processing, and intelligent search (RAG)
  • Spinning up and running services on Cloud Run
  • Working with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or Cloud Build) to ship code quickly and reliably
  • Using Terraform to set up and manage cloud infrastructure
  • Working with data in BigQuery and integrating with other systems through APIs

Core profile

  • 5 years hands-on GCP experience. You'll need to be well established on Google Cloud, not new to it.
  • Able to work with CI/CD, spin up Cloud Run, and use some Terraform.
  • Proven AI development or AI agent-build experience.

What you'll bring

  • Strong software development skills, ideally in Python (Java, Go, or TypeScript also considered)
  • 5 years of commercial GCP experience
  • Hands-on CI/CD, Cloud Run, and Terraform
  • Experience building with Vertex AI, Gemini, or other LLMs, including AI agents
  • Comfortable with Docker, Git, and modern development practices
  • A practical, delivery-focused mindset, happy working in small, fast-moving teams
