Software Engineer - Student Placement

Queens University Students Only

This role is open only to applications from current Queen's University students for our 2027 student placement program.

Location: Belfast Office

Schedule: Hybrid (M/F remote, T/W/TH in-office)

About the Role

Our Software Engineer placement will give you hands-on professional experience across a world-class technology stack. You will get access to continual growth and learning opportunities that will help you build your skills.

You will help in the development of our highly complex platform, which utilizes an array of the most modern technologies. You will make a real difference - the code you commit reaches millions of people as soon as you release it. Throughout your internship, you will gain exposure to all of our team, and gain hands-on experience in software development, software quality assurance, automation, and deployment.

You will work alongside our team of experienced Engineers, Software Development Engineers in Test, and Automation/Deployment Engineers. You will learn from our experienced engineers to apply new approaches to problem-solving which help to build elegant solutions for complex technical challenges.

Essential Skills

  • Studying in a STEM-related degree
  • Desire to excel in programming
  • Self-driven with the desire and ability to continue learning
  • Experience with functional or OO programming as well as SQL
  • Passionate and curious about new technologies
  • Understanding of software methodologies

  • Developing personal projects, or contributing to open source projects - pet projects in GitHub/bitbucket are cool to see.
