About the Role
Meta is seeking experienced engineers to join our Central Integrity team which exists to keep billions of people safe on Meta's platforms. We design and deploy systems that detect and disrupt harm at an unprecedented global scale, making this one of the largest deployments of AI for positive real-world impact anywhere in the industry. Our work safeguards critical areas including child and youth safety, fraud and scams, identity and authenticity and more while actively building defences against novel frontier threats, such as autonomous AI agents and automated risk vectors. This represents some of the most technically demanding and high-stakes engineering and product at Meta, driven by a deeply mission-focused team. You'll combine strong engineering fundamentals with cutting-edge AI to build effective, adaptable solutions that stay ahead of evolving integrity and safety risks. If you are driven by hard technical challenges and want your work to deliver immediate, real-world impact, this is where you belong.
As a Principal Engineer on the Abusive Actors team, you will own our technical strategy for identifying and disrupting the actors and coordinated networks behind the biggest integrity risks our users face across Meta’s family of apps. Scaled bot attacks, Scams and child safety risks are some of the most pressing issues you will help us to measure and sustainably reduce.
Responsibilities
- Own the multi-year technical strategy for tackling actors intent on violating our integrity policies across the Family of Apps, communicate it clearly to audiences ranging from individual contributors to executive leadership.
- Evolve and scale the full E2E integrity lifecycle across different violations and products and establish extensible technical foundations, coding standards, and architectural patterns that improve consistency and delivery velocity. Work closely with product and analytics partners to define how we measure success and failure through trusted metrics.
- Establish technical direction in our most highly pressured and ambiguous areas, where adversaries are constantly adapting, helping the engineering team to establish sustainable and agile approaches, including where they span organisational boundaries.
- Partner and effectively communicate with teams across Meta to navigate complex technical trade-offs between user protection, product friction and topline business outcomes. Integrate integrity solutions into new products, including newly launched apps such as Muse so they are safe, trusted and can scale without integrity concerns.
- Lead cross-functional execution of org-wide technical initiatives, aligning stakeholders, managing dependencies, and driving outcomes against defined milestones and metrics.
- Develop and operationalise engineering excellence programs including reliability standards, performance guardrails and quality frameworks adopted across teams.
- Identify systemic issues and recurring failure patterns across the team and broader organisation, developing invariants and architectural improvements that prevent entire classes of problems and inefficiencies.
- Recruit and develop engineers with skills critical to the team's success, role-modeling technical and cultural values that strengthen the broader engineering community.
- Mentor engineers across the organisation by providing feedback, coaching and technical guidance on the most challenging system problems and collaborations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
