Role Description
This is a full-time, remote Software Engineer role focused on building and maintaining software solutions that support the optimization of electricity networks. The Software Engineer will design, implement, and test back-end services and APIs that integrate geospatial data, analytics, and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

- Writing clean, maintainable code
- Participating in code reviews
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as data analysts, product managers, and GIS specialists
- Improving existing systems for performance and reliability
- Contributing to technical documentation
- Supporting the deployment and monitoring of production applications
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in modern languages and development tools.
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, building APIs and services that are secure, scalable, and reliable.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their practical application in production systems.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in geospatial technologies, analytics, or the energy/utilities sector is an advantage.
