About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Java or Python) to join our dynamic technology team at Citibank. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, cloud-native applications that drive innovation within the banking sector. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions, including Generative AI concepts, to enhance our digital capabilities. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in full-stack application development with expertise in Java or Python. You should have hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Core, Flask, or FastAPI, and demonstrate proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue. A solid understanding of designing and delivering scalable, cloud-native applications is essential, along with familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Experience with Generative AI concepts, including Large Language Models, transformer-based systems, prompt engineering, vector search, and retrieval techniques, is highly desirable. Knowledge of AI frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, MLflow, and workflow orchestration tools such as n8n will be advantageous. Candidates should also demonstrate strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure the seamless integration of functions to meet strategic goals and identify system enhancements for new product deployment and process improvements.
- Resolve complex business and technical problems through thorough analysis of processes, systems, and industry standards, providing innovative solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud-native applications using Java or Python, ensuring adherence to architectural blueprints and coding standards.
- Lead the development of application standards for coding, testing, debugging, and deployment, promoting best practices within the team.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and architecture teams to ensure system integration aligns with business objectives and security requirements.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to mid-level developers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
- Assess and manage risks associated with business decisions, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal policies, and escalating issues as necessary.
- Engage in research and development activities related to Generative AI, integrating AI APIs from providers such as OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude into production systems.
- Participate in ongoing learning initiatives to stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in software development and AI.
