£30,000 – £40,000
Fully Remote (UK) – Midlands-based preferred for occasional meet-ups

THE ROLE
Searchability is working with a well-established digital technology business to find a Software Engineer to join their development team. This is a fully remote position with a different working pattern: 11am to 7pm, Friday to Monday. That gives you a four-day week with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday off, so you get midweek time to yourself while everyone else is at work.
You'll be building and maintaining consumer-facing web platforms and services used by a large international audience.

THE SOFTWARE ENGINEER ROLE
- Developing and maintaining web applications and services using Node.js, TypeScript and React
- Designing and optimising MySQL databases and queries
- Building and customising platforms to meet partner requirements
- Integrating with third-party APIs and services
- Contributing to new product features and user experiences
- Troubleshooting, supporting and improving live services
- Working with a small, collaborative remote team

ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- 2 to 5 years' commercial software development experience
- Strong Node.js and TypeScript skills
- Solid front-end experience with React
- Good working knowledge of MySQL or similar relational databases
- Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
- Able to commit to the Friday to Monday, 11am to 7pm working pattern
- UK-based with the right to work in the UK (Midlands location advantageous)
