Alloyed is a young venture-funded company of about 300 world-class metallurgists, engineers, and software developers working across the UK, Japan and the US to build the future of advanced metal components and systems. To do this, Alloyed uses proprietary software packages which combine advanced machine learning and physical modelling to invent better alloys, devise better ways to process them, and design better 3D-printed components and assemblies.
Alloyed is composed of a range of divisions, enabling metal technology from composition to systems:
- Core Technology: Alloyed's internal research and technology hub, focused on creating the new alloys, manufacturing methods, digital tools and intellectual property that will power the company's future products and capabilities.
- Innovation Services: Work directly with customers to develop, optimise and qualify materials and manufacturing processes for demanding aerospace, defence, energy and industrial applications.
- Component Engineering: Design, manufacture and validate production-ready components, turning material and process innovations into high-performance hardware for customer applications.
- Argive: Develop and manufacture complete microturbine engine systems under ambitious timelines and customer expectations, enabled by Alloyed’s software stack, proprietary Alloys and AM processing capabilities.

Role Overview
Alloyed Software Engineers contribute to the full software development lifecycle from the capture and prioritisation of new requirements through to user acceptance testing and training. They work closely with engineers across all divisions to build cutting-edge software platforms that drive process optimisation and automation in additive manufacture, assembly and beyond.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain Alloyed’s novel software platforms for
- Data management, traceability, visualisation and analysis
- Performance prediction and optimisation through model integration
- Material composition design
- Component design and build preparation
- Production quality assurance, including statistical process control
- Work within a fast-paced, agile development team in collaboration with process engineers, technicians and material scientists
- Participate in the full development lifecycle from user story generation to user acceptance testing
- Work collaboratively to solve complex problems with innovative solutions

Essential skills
- Completed or working towards a degree in science, engineering, mathematics or computer science (2.1 minimum)
- Proficient in the use of C#, C++ or Python
- Excellent understanding of software design patterns, best practices and principles
- Practical experience of test-driven development
- Strong interest in applied engineering or science
- Good knowledge of object-oriented programming
- Highly effective communicator who encourages innovation through collaboration
- Natural problem-solver with a desire to learn
- Organised and self-motivated
Desired skills
- Containerisation
- ASP.NET Core including Blazor
- JavaScript or TypeScript including React
- Programming with 3D geometry.
- WPF
- Machine learning model development
- CI / CD
- Infrastructure as Code (Iac) using Terraform for management of Azure and AWS resources
