Hybrid Engineering Manager

Join M&S at a pivotal moment as we continue the transformation of our People & Labour engineering organisation. The Talent & Core HR domain delivers enterprise SaaS solutions and services that support key activities across the candidate and colleague lifecycle, enabling our People Hub teams to recruit, develop and support colleagues across M&S.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams responsible for these critical enterprise platforms, ensuring we maximise the value of our SaaS investments while delivering excellent digital experiences for colleagues. Combining strong people leadership, product expertise and technical capability, you will shape engineering excellence, continuous learning and agile delivery across the domain.

You will work closely with architects, product managers, principal engineers, SaaS vendors and engineering leaders to drive platform innovation, modernisation and simplification. This role is ideal for someone with deep Oracle HCM expertise who is passionate about building high-performing teams, delivering business value and exploring innovative technologies, including AI-enabled solutions.

Due to high interest, this role may close earlier than advertised. We recommend applying as soon as possible.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead and develop engineering teams supporting Talent & Core HR platforms, fostering a collaborative, empowered and high-performing engineering culture.
  • Own and evolve the technical roadmap across Recruitment, Talent, Learn, Helpdesk and Core HR, ensuring scalable, secure and maintainable platform solutions.
  • Partner with Product, Architecture and Engineering leadership to deliver strategic business priorities, manage dependencies and drive engineering best practice.
  • Champion agile delivery, continuous improvement and platform innovation to enhance colleague experiences across SaaS workflows and services.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective SaaS release management, support processes, service reliability and DevOps ways of working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
