At Drive Further, we’re an independent Collective made up of Financial & Legal Insurance, Magnus, MSL, Supportis, and Dualdrive.
We’re hiring a Software Development Manager to lead a team delivering scalable, high-transaction software. This is a true player/coach role: you’ll split your time between hands-on engineering and leading the team (depending on delivery needs).
What you’ll do
- Lead a team of engineers with clear priorities and predictable delivery
- Own end-to-end delivery: planning, estimation, backlog hygiene, and release execution (Azure DevOps)
- Set technical direction and standards across .NET/C#, Angular, SQL Server
- Stay hands-on when needed: design, code, pair, review PRs, unblock the team
- Drive quality, reliability, and security: testing approach, incident response, post-incident improvements
- Hire, onboard, and develop engineers (including onshore/offshore collaboration)

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
