Engineering Manager | London | AI | Series A
📍 London (on-site 4 days a week)
💸 £130-170k plus high equity
I'm working with a fast-growing AI company in London that's looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a small but senior engineering team.
They want someone who's been a strong engineer first, has moved into leadership, and still understands what good technical decision-making and delivery actually look like.
Responsibilities
You'll be responsible for engineers working across three product/engineering squads, covering:

- Hiring, coaching and developing engineers
- Helping technical leads take real ownership
- Working closely with Product and the CTO
- Building an engineering culture where people understand the customer problem
- Raising the bar on engineering quality, accountability and execution
Ideal Background
- A few years managing engineers directly
- Previously a strong IC in a venture-backed startup or serious technology company
- Experience hiring and developing product-led engineers
- Comfortable coordinating several teams at once
- Experience shipping things like distributed systems, data pipelines or platform services
