Software Engineering Manager £100K
On behalf of our rapidly growing client based in Manchester, we are recruiting for an exceptional Software Engineering Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer, Principal Engineer, or Lead Software Engineer looking to step into an Engineering Manager position, leading a high-performing team of 8-10 engineers.
Responsibilities
As Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing a team of approximately 8-10 software engineers, supporting both their technical and professional development
- Ensuring the team understands company and departmental goals, and that engineering and architectural best practices are followed
- Mentoring and coaching engineers, helping individuals achieve their full potential
- Working closely with Product and Project teams to ensure development priorities are understood, estimated accurately, and delivered on time to a high standard
- Collaborating with peers and senior technical staff to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement across engineering and delivery functions
- Creating a positive, collaborative, and high-performing engineering culture

Requirements
The Software Engineering Manager will have:
- Previous experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Developer, or similar technical leadership role
- A desire to move into, or recent experience within, an Engineering Manager position
- Experience working within a fast-paced Agile software delivery environment
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching capabilities
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical challenges clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- A strong technical background, ideally with exposure to Golang, React Native, and/or TypeScript
