Role Description
The Software Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Oxford Area. This role is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of software engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring high-quality delivery of software solutions that power CR8 Ai’s Physical AI platform. Day-to-day activities include overseeing software development cycles, guiding architectural and design decisions, coordinating with product and operations stakeholders, and managing project timelines and priorities. The manager will review code, promote best practices, and foster a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture. This role also involves identifying process improvements, supporting career development for team members, and contributing hands-on to technical problem solving when needed.

- Strong software development skills, with experience in modern programming languages and development practices.
- Team leadership and people management experience, including mentoring engineers and building high-performing teams.
- Expertise in software design and architecture, with the ability to guide system design and technical decision-making.
- Project management capabilities, including planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex software initiatives.
- Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable architectures relevant to data-intensive or AI-driven platforms.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working closely with product, data, and operations teams in a technology-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
- Background in AI, machine learning, or manufacturing/supply chain technologies is beneficial.
