Software Engineer - Java

Job Details
6 months initially contract, hybrid remote for Manchester, the daily rate is between £575 to £615 Inside IR35 per day.
About the Role
Join our team as a Software Engineer, focusing on Java backend development and cloud infrastructure with AWS. In this role, you'll own the implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems that support critical business operations. Your expertise in Java, combined with experience in AWS cloud services, will contribute to building reliable and maintainable solutions for our organisation.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in Java development and building backend applications
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.)
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
- Experience with testing, deployment, and monitoring of cloud-based applications
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to write clean, maintainable code
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and stakeholders

Nice to Have Skills
- Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Experience in cloud security best practices and data management
- Exposure to other cloud platforms or backend frameworks
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in Java backend development and cloud deployment
Additional Details
- Ability to participate in on-call support for production systems
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with AWS innovations and Java technologies
