Internship Overview
This full-time summer internship is designed for Bachelor’s or Master’s students in the penultimate or final year of an accredited programme in the EMEA region. The placement lasts approximately 13 to 17 weeks, begins in May, June or July 2027, and requires the successful candidate to be based in the United Kingdom. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
Applications should be completed by 23 October 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and the review process may take several weeks. The specific London team and project will be selected according to the candidate’s education, interests and skills.
About The Role
Interns work on projects that advance computing and intelligent systems across Google products. Software Engineering interns design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions. Site Reliability Engineering interns improve the reliability and performance of business-critical systems through coding, troubleshooting, monitoring, alerting and automation.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to a productive and innovative team by working closely with peers, managers and partner teams.
- Develop scripts and tools that automate routine tasks.
- Analyse information and evaluate possible solutions to technical problems.
- Apply knowledge from computer science study to real-world engineering challenges.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field in the EMEA region.
- Experience with data structures or algorithms through coursework, projects, research, internships, employment or open-source development.
- Coding experience in Python, C, C++, Java or JavaScript.
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical programming experience using C++, Java, Python or Go through research, teaching, internships or personal projects.
- Experience with AI or machine learning, infrastructure, web or mobile development, Unix or Linux, distributed systems, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, security or large software systems.
- Interest in learning additional programming languages as projects require.
- Availability to complete a full-time 13 to 17 week internship in the United Kingdom beginning in May, June or July 2027.
- Currently in the penultimate or final year of study.
