I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We’re particularly interested in individuals who thrive in CI/CD‑driven environments, are comfortable working with Infrastructure-as-Code, and who see automation as the default, not an optimisation. This is a space where engineers have the freedom and responsibility to build, test, secure, and deploy services in an end‑to‑end, highly automated way, with quality and security embedded into products and services from Day One.

- Embed Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices, driving standardisation, scalability, and elimination of manual provisioning and configuration drift.
- Integrate security controls into engineering workflows, ensuring services are secure by design and comply with the highest standards, from initial build through to production.
- Support and enable engineering teams, providing guidance, tooling, and best practices to improve delivery velocity, quality, and resilience.
