MEET THE TEAM
The Engineering Systems team serves as the backbone of Cisco’s Collaboration organization, empowering engineering teams to build, secure, test, and release software at an enterprise scale. Our work directly supports the development of workplaces of tomorrow, ensuring that millions of daily users experience reliable, secure, and scalable connections. We are a collaborative group of engineers who thrive on technical depth and a high-energy, supportive atmosphere. We are particularly excited about our ongoing work in modernizing deployment workflows and implementing AI-assisted engineering to revolutionize our development practices.
YOUR IMPACT
- Lead high-impact engineering systems initiatives across GitHub migration, CI/CD, and secure delivery to modernize our software development lifecycle.
- Mentor fellow engineers and guide design decisions to build resilient team capability and ensure long-term system health.
- Drive practical security improvements within our pipelines and artifacts to protect our software delivery processes.
- Improve developer productivity by reducing build and deployment friction while using performance metrics to measure and drive continuous quality.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate broad technical requirements into clear, adopted solutions that define our future operating models.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps/SRE, build and release engineering, security engineering, developer tooling, or related roles.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex technical problems from discovery through delivery, adoption, measurement, and operational follow-through.
- Strong technical depth in at least one relevant domain such as GitHub, CI/CD, modern deployment, secure software delivery, or pipeline and artifact security.
- Experience in developer platforms, build systems, or large-scale engineering operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience leading work across teams where success depended on influence, stakeholder alignment, adoption, documentation, support readiness, and guiding other engineers through technical decisions.
- GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, repository and organization migration, repository governance, organization policies, GitHub Apps, or large-scale repository management.
- CI/CD and deployment systems such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Harness, or similar platforms, including release orchestration, rollback patterns, environment management, artifact workflows, or release readiness.
- Security automation or secure delivery workflows, especially pipeline and artifact security, including SAST, dependency scanning, container scanning, secret scanning and similar.
- Developer experience, internal developer platforms, software catalogs, documentation, workflows, or related implementation experience with Java/TypeScript, Node.js, Cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, containers, AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Ansible, Observability, operational monitoring, dashboards, alerting, on-call workflows, runbooks, incident response, support operations, reliability improvement, metrics-driven prioritization, and experience balancing strong technical opinions with practical delivery in a large organization.
