Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Java Developer Contractor to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of high-quality enterprise applications.
The successful candidate will work closely with architects, business analysts, testers, product owners, and project teams to translate business and technical requirements into reliable, scalable, and secure software solutions. The role requires strong hands-on Java development experience, knowledge of backend services, APIs, databases, and modern delivery practices, with the ability to work effectively in an Agile environment and contribute to the successful delivery of client-focused technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services.
- Translate business and technical requirements into clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
- Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Work with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and microservices-based architectures.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA teams, and DevOps engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Support code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Support CI/CD delivery processes using tools such as Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, or similar.
- Create and maintain technical documentation where required.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support application performance, stability, and reliability.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Java Developer, Backend Developer, or Full Stack Developer.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
- Experience using Git, Bitbucket, or similar version control tools.
- Experience working with build and dependency tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and development delivery practices.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with monitoring or logging tools such as Kibana, Splunk, or CloudWatch.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise application development.
- Consulting or client-facing delivery experience.
- Knowledge of secure coding standards and application performance optimization.
