Job Title: Software Integration Engineer

Location: Christchurch, Dorset – On-site

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: £42,000 - £49,100 + benefits


Our client, an established defence & security firm, require an experienced Software Integration Engineer to join their multi-disciplined team in Christchurch.

This long-term appointment is a complement to the existing 45 strong team that provides support to a fully integrated command and control system for the MoD.

What the role of the Software Integration Engineer entails:

  • Building and configuring Windows Server 2019/2022 and Windows 10/11 operating systems
  • Integration and configuration of COTS and bespoke software
  • Adherence to software engineering practices
  • Fault finding and resolution of issues in a production environment to a successful conclusion
  • Producing clear and concise technical documentation
  • Collaboration with other members of the team: sharing knowledge and peer reviewing others work
  • Reporting on progress and providing feedback to team members and leadership
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to support deployment, investigations, and testing

What experience you need to be the successful Software Integration Engineer:

  • You’ll be able to use PowerShell and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit to install and configure COTS and bespoke software on Windows 10 and Server 2019
  • You’ll have knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and MDT alternate deployment approaches for deploying Windows 11 and Server 2022 (desirable)
  • You’ll have knowledge and experience of Group Policy and Active Directory
  • You’ll be able to produce clear technical documentation
