Life on the team
Join our Software Licence Management team as the senior point of expertise for a strategic customer environment. You will bring together licensing knowledge, commercial insight, governance and service delivery to reduce risk, control cost and improve decision-making. This is a visible, hands-on role where you will lead complex activity, shape recommendations for senior stakeholders and develop capability across the team.

What you'll do
- Act as the accountable subject matter expert for complex software licensing, compliance, optimisation, financial and programme matters.
- Support major-vendor renewals, effective licence positions, reconciliation and audit defence across vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Adobe and Veritas.
- Turn licence, contractual, cost and technology data into clear recommendations for customer, operational and senior stakeholders.
- Identify and evidence savings, cost avoidance, demand reduction and licence reharvesting opportunities.
- Support budgets, forecasts, renewals, project uplifts, cross-charges and Finance reporting, ensuring changes are reflected accurately.
- Use Snow or equivalent tooling, discovery and entitlement data to improve analysis, reporting and decision-making.
- Assess licensing impacts across transformation, data-centre, cloud, migration and upgrade activity, including Azure cost and cloud-licensing considerations.
- Represent Software Asset Management in customer, operational and vendor governance, managing actions, assumptions, decisions and escalations.
- Lead service improvements through stronger controls, automation, artificial intelligence, workflow improvements and reusable standards.
- Set priorities, mentor analysts and quality-assure delivery while retaining accountability for agreed outcomes.

What you'll need
- Substantial experience in Software Licence Management, software licensing or a closely related technology-commercial role.
- Strong knowledge of major-vendor licensing, with depth in at least two of Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, Adobe or Veritas.
- A proven track record of leading complex licence analysis, renewals, audits, effective licence positions or optimisation activity.
- Experience assessing licensing implications across projects, migrations, upgrades, cloud adoption and architecture change.
- Working knowledge of Snow or equivalent tooling, discovery, entitlements, reconciliation, metering and reharvesting.
- The ability to interpret contracts, product terms, technical designs and financial data, then explain their practical impact clearly.
- Confidence working with senior customer, technical, Finance, Commercial and vendor stakeholders, with the judgement to challenge constructively and prioritise competing risks.
- Experience leading or developing analysts, setting priorities and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery.
- A calm, accountable and hands-on approach, supported by strong documentation and relationship-building skills.
- Security clearance, or the ability to maintain the clearance required for the role.
- Relevant Software Licence Management, IT service management, cloud, FinOps or vendor certification would be advantageous, as would experience of Azure cost management, Power BI, workflow automation or managed services.
