Software Quality Engineer (PLM)
Location: Warwickshire (Hybrid Options)
Salary: £55,000–£60,000 Base + Benefits
The Opportunity
Our client is undertaking a significant transformation of its engineering technology landscape, with a particular focus on modernising the systems and processes that underpin product development and manufacturing.
As a PLM-focused Software Quality Engineer / Test Analyst, you will sit at the point where engineering, technology, and business transformation meet. Your focus will be on ensuring that critical enterprise platforms, particularly Siemens Teamcenter and its associated integrations, are reliable, fit for purpose, and capable of supporting complex engineering and manufacturing processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of quality across a major technology programme rather than simply executing predefined test scripts. You'll work with engineering, design, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders to understand how systems operate within the wider business and ensure that technology solutions accurately support real-world processes.
This is not a traditional "sit in the corner and execute tests" position. The ideal candidate will have the technical understanding to work confidently with PLM and Siemens Teamcenter, combined with the communication skills and commercial awareness required to engage stakeholders, coordinate testing activity, and help establish an effective quality approach across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
You will take a lead role in coordinating testing activity across a number of programme workstreams, providing the structure and direction required to establish effective quality assurance practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and contributing to appropriate testing strategies across multiple programme workstreams.
- Planning and coordinating testing cycles from preparation through to completion.
- Ensuring sufficient test coverage across functional, integration, UAT, and data migration activities.
- Working closely with business users and subject matter experts to define and coordinate User Acceptance Testing.
- Supporting engineering, design, manufacturing, and technology teams throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Validating product structures, engineering information, and associated data.
- Assessing integrations between PLM, ERP, and manufacturing systems.
- Identifying potential risks and quality issues at an early stage.
- Managing defects and coordinating their progression through to resolution.
- Providing clear status updates, reporting, and recommendations to support programme-level decisions.
- Acting as a testing advisor, bringing structure, guidance, and best practice to teams rather than operating solely as an individual test executor.
- Working collaboratively with internal teams and external delivery partners.
- Helping develop and establish the wider testing capability within the organisation.
- Bridging the gap between technical delivery teams and business stakeholders by translating complex technical issues into clear, actionable outcomes.

The successful candidate is likely to bring strong experience within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments, together with practical knowledge of enterprise engineering systems.
Essential experience includes:
- Strong experience working with Product Lifecycle Management systems.
- Hands-on experience with Siemens Teamcenter.
- A good understanding of engineering, design, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience working with engineering and manufacturing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product structures.
- Experience coordinating User Acceptance Testing and engaging business stakeholders in the testing process.
- Understanding of data integrity and the importance of maintaining accurate engineering information.
- Experience working across complex system integrations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
- The ability to work effectively between technical teams and the wider business.
- Experience providing testing consultation, structure, coordination, and guidance.
- Experience with test automation would be advantageous, although this position is primarily focused on PLM quality and test coordination rather than being a dedicated automation role.
Desirable Background
Experience gained within automotive, manufacturing, or engineering environments would be particularly beneficial.
Additional experience that would strengthen an application includes:
- CAD system integrations.
- Engineering change management processes.
- Product structures and BOM management.
- Digital engineering technologies.
- Large-scale business or technology transformation programmes.
- Enterprise system implementation or integration projects.
- Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or Polarion.
- Exposure to automated testing approaches and tools.
