Software Release Manager - Hybrid, Permanent
Poole, Dorset
Salary £55k-£60k
Main Purpose of the Role
The Software Release Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, governing, and delivering software releases across multiple applications and environments. The role ensures that software deployments are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal business disruption whilst maintaining quality, compliance, and operational stability.
Working closely with Engineering, Product, QA, Infrastructure, and Support teams, the Software Release Manager owns the release life cycle from planning through deployment, post-release validation, and continuous improvement.

Person Specification
- Strong release planning and organisational skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong understanding of (SDLC) software delivery life cycle
- Managing complex multi-team software releases
- Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments
- Managing production deployments and hot fixes
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Working with change management processes
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tooling, Octopus Deploy, Git/Bitbucket, Azure Cloud Services, SQL Server
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related discipline
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Agile/Scrum Certification
- Project Management qualification (PRINCE2/PMP)
