Software Research Engineer – Retrieval / Agentic AI / NLP / LLM
We are currently partnered with a research-driven technology organisation developing novel knowledge retrieval and agentic AI technologies. This role sits within a highly collaborative research and engineering environment, bridging AI research with production-grade software architecture and supporting the development of research prototypes and production-ready services.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborate with researchers to design and develop high-quality research prototypes and production-ready services.
- Bridge abstract AI research and production-grade software architecture.
- Develop prototypes and production systems for next-generation knowledge retrieval and agentic AI technologies.
- Work on technologies including hybrid GraphRAG with late interactions, knowledge agents, dynamic context compression, efficient agent memory, and goal and state management for long-horizon reasoning and planning.

Key requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or another mathematical discipline.
- At least 3 years of project experience in software engineering.
- Strong Python, Docker, and Git experience.
- Knowledge of Knowledge Graphs and Graph Databases.
- Knowledge of LLM and agent-related technologies, including hallucination handling, knowledge distillation, memory, skills, reasoning, and planning.
- Knowledge of modern multi-modal ingestion frameworks.
