You'll lead Software Architecture on a next-generation robotics project.

This is a fresh team, backed by an existing business looking to smartly expand their capabilities. You'll be setting standards across the lifecycle and be absolutely pivotal as the team grows.

Essential requirements

  • British nationality is required due to security obligations. Dual Nationals are welcome to apply but must meet vetting criteria
  • Experienced Software Leader with a track record of delivering safety critical architecture
  • Experience with developing real-time software in C/C++ or Python
  • Strong background with software architecture where there is a physical or safety critical component

Excellent basic salary + a bonus of up to 35% paid every six months - full benefits below

What you will work on

  • Define and develop end-to-end software architecture for advanced vehicle automation and robotic systems.
  • Establish robust CI/CD processes for safety-critical software components.
  • Lead architecture design for computer vision, sensor integration, digital twin technology and real-time simulations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to embed software systems seamlessly into physical hardware products.

Skills and background

  • A degree in software engineering, computer science or an equivalent technical qualification.
  • Essential technical proficiency using Linux alongside real-time software development in C, C++ or Python.
  • Prior experience with the ROS, ML algorithms or computer vision tools is advantageous but not required.

Location and setup

Based in Newcastle with a hybrid setup - 3x onsite each week. Some occasional UK and overseas travel to partner sites may be required.
