About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client's high profile government project, supporting the delivery and enhancement of one of the UK's most critical customs applications.
As a Quality Engineer / Test Specialist, you will become part of an experienced delivery team, working closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, create effective test scenarios, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced testing professional looking to contribute to a large-scale government transformation programme within a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse and understand business and technical requirements.
- Design, develop, and execute test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform functional and performance testing activities.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and development teams to ensure quality throughout the software lifecycle.
- Identify, record, and track defects using agreed tooling and processes.
- Support continuous improvement of testing practices and quality standards.
- Contribute to Agile delivery teams and ceremonies.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in software testing and quality engineering.
- Performance Testing experience.
- Hands-on experience with Cucumber.
- Strong Java skills.
- Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with JMeter.
- Exposure to AWS tooling and cloud environments.
- Experience working within large-scale public sector or enterprise transformation programmes.
