We’re a thriving retailer with a head office just outside Chester. Due to our ongoing growth and continued success, we’re looking for an ambitious Test Engineer with strong API and integration testing experience to join our technology team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in assuring the quality, reliability and performance of integrations across a complex technology landscape, working closely with developers, architects, Business Analysts, project teams and business stakeholders.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
This role is suited to a Test Engineer with 2+ years' software testing experience, ideally with a strong background in API and integration testing, who is keen to develop their automation and technical testing skills.

You’ll be responsible for designing and executing integration, API, regression and non-functional testing across complex systems and third-party platforms. You’ll validate data flows between applications and services, ensuring integrations process information accurately, securely and reliably.
You’ll work across both synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns, performing advanced API testing using tools such as Postman, while developing and maintaining automated test solutions using technologies including Playwright and Appium.
You’ll also be involved in:
- Creating and maintaining test strategies, plans, scenarios and test documentation
- Validating data transformation, authentication, error handling and business rules
- Performing data validation and reconciliation across integrated systems
- Supporting regression, performance, load, resilience and break testing
- Investigating defects using logs, metrics and application telemetry
- Working closely with development teams throughout the SDLC to improve solution quality
- Supporting release and post-deployment verification activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement across testing processes, frameworks and standards
- Participating in solution design discussions and providing quality-focused recommendations
- Working within Agile delivery teams and supporting effective defect management

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE…
- 2+ years' experience in software testing, ideally with integration/API testing
- Strong experience with API testing using Postman or similar tools
- Experience testing integrations across complex systems and applications
- Experience creating and maintaining automated API test suites
- Experience with, or exposure to automation frameworks such as Playwright and/or Appium
- Experience with GitHub or similar source control platforms
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
