Experience with NoSQL Databases is absolutely essential
Overview
We're looking for a Test Engineer to join a public sector programme in a role that's heavily focused on data and database testing, alongside integration and API work. You'll be working across Java and TypeScript codebases, using Selenium and Playwright for automation, with NoSQL database experience being critical to this role given the data-heavy nature of the systems involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain automated tests using Selenium and Playwright
- Carry out data and database testing, ensuring data integrity, consistency and correctness across systems
- Test integrations between services, validating data flow end to end
- Perform API testing, covering functional correctness, edge cases and error handling
- Work across Java and TypeScript codebases to build and maintain test scripts
- Collaborate with developers and BAs to understand data models and integration points
- Report on testing progress, defects and risks clearly and consistently

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
