Software Tester

Newcastle upon Tyne
£35,000 - £40,000 + Hybrid Working + Excellent Company Benefits

Excellent opportunity for a Software Tester with manual testing experience to join a growing internal development team within a major national organisation.

This is a brilliant opportunity to become part of a business that is investing in its internal systems and technology capability. You will test a varied portfolio of web applications, Windows applications and business reports, rather than being restricted to one product or technology.

Working closely with developers and business stakeholders, you will review requirements, create and execute manual test cases and identify defects before software changes are released. You will work within an agile environment and support regular sprint cycles, regression testing and ongoing improvements to testing standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience manually testing web-based and Windows or desktop applications. You will be methodical, detail-focused and confident documenting defects and communicating with both technical teams and business users.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
