LegacyX is a technology company developing innovative digital products and platforms designed around the way people connect, create and interact with technology.
Our product ecosystem includes Vortex, our social/dating platform, LXDC, our digital creations platform, and further technology and AI products currently in development.
As we continue to develop and scale our products, we are looking for a motivated Software Testing & Product Analysis Intern to join our technology team and play an important role in ensuring our products are reliable, intuitive and ready for users.
The Role
This is a post-development quality assurance and product analysis role.
You will work closely with our developers and product team to test software after development, identify issues before and after release, analyse the overall user experience and ensure that new features work as intended.
You will be involved throughout the testing cycle — from receiving newly developed features through to confirming bugs have been resolved and releases are ready for deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Software Testing & QA
- Test newly developed features across web and mobile applications.
- Conduct functional, regression, integration and usability testing.
- Test applications across different devices, operating systems, browsers and screen sizes.
- Identify bugs, errors, crashes, broken functionality and unexpected behaviour.
- Re-test issues after developers implement fixes.
- Perform pre-release testing before new features or updates go live.
- Carry out post-release checks to identify issues occurring in the live environment.
- Test user journeys from beginning to end to ensure different features work together correctly.
- Check new releases against the original product requirements and specifications.
Bug Identification & Reporting
- Create clear and detailed bug reports.
- Record the steps required to reproduce each issue.
- Provide screenshots, screen recordings and relevant technical information where appropriate.
- Categorise issues according to severity and priority.
- Track reported issues through to resolution.
- Maintain accurate testing and bug-tracking documentation.
- Communicate issues clearly to developers and product managers.
Product Analysis
- Analyse the overall functionality and usability of LegacyX products.
- Identify areas where the user experience could be improved.
- Review features from the perspective of a real user.
- Identify confusing workflows, unnecessary steps and potential friction points.
- Provide recommendations for improving product functionality and usability.
- Compare expected product behaviour against actual user behaviour and outcomes.
- Help identify recurring technical or UX issues across products.

Release & Quality Control
- Assist with maintaining release checklists.
- Complete QA testing before software releases.
- Verify that critical bugs have been resolved before deployment.
- Conduct regression testing following significant updates.
- Monitor products following releases and report newly identified issues.
- Help establish and improve LegacyX’s software testing procedures and QA standards.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with developers, CTOs, product managers and other members of the technology team.
- Attend relevant development/product meetings.
- Communicate testing results and product issues effectively.
- Help the development team understand the user impact of technical issues.
- Contribute ideas to improve LegacyX’s development and testing processes.

Technical Skills
Candidates with experience or knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- Manual software testing.
- QA methodologies.
- Bug tracking and issue management.
- Mobile application testing.
- Web application testing.
- Browser/device compatibility testing.
- Regression testing.
- User acceptance testing (UAT).
- API testing.
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Git/GitHub or similar development platforms.
- Jira, Trello or similar project-management/issue-tracking tools.
- Browser developer tools.
- Postman or similar API testing tools.
Programming experience is not essential, but a basic understanding of software development or coding is desirable.
Key Qualities
The successful candidate should have a “break it before the user does” mindset.
You should naturally ask:
- What happens if the user does this?
- What happens if they do it twice?
- What happens if they have no internet connection?
- What happens if they use a different device?
- What happens if they enter incorrect information?
- Does this feature work with the rest of the application?
- Is this actually easy for the user to understand?
Your job is not simply to confirm that software works — it is to challenge the product and find opportunities to make it better.

Key Deliverables During the Internship
The intern will be expected to contribute towards:

Internship Structure
Duration: 6 months
The role will involve progressively greater responsibility as the intern develops their understanding of LegacyX’s products, development processes and QA standards.
Performance will be assessed based on:

Ideal Candidate
This opportunity would suit a student, recent graduate or aspiring professional looking to build a career in:

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related subject is advantageous but not essential. Practical ability, curiosity and attention to detail are highly valued.
