Software Validation Engineer

Our client is an internationally recognised engineering company developing advanced sensing, communication and software-driven technology for mission-critical applications. Their products are deployed globally and are trusted to perform in some of the world's most challenging environments.

They are seeking a hands-on validation professional to help assure the quality, reliability and performance of its advanced products. You’ll take ownership of validation activities throughout the product lifecycle, from reviewing requirements and shaping test strategy through to automation, system integration and final product sign-off.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than conventional software testing. You’ll work across complete engineering systems, develop automated test solutions and validate products under genuine operating conditions.

What you’ll be doing

  • Analysing system designs, requirements, specifications and user stories to create robust validation strategies
  • Building, maintaining and executing comprehensive validation plans
  • Delivering functional, performance and regression testing
  • Developing automated test programs and scripts using languages such as C#, C++, Python, JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Determining the appropriate balance between manual and automated testing
  • Maximising test coverage across critical product features
  • Defining requirements for test tools, environments and supporting infrastructure
  • Investigating, reproducing, documenting and tracking system issues through to resolution
  • Analysing test results and clearly reporting findings to engineering teams and management
  • Validating software and hardware systems under real-world operating conditions
  • Assessing system robustness, repeatability and environmental tolerance
  • Working closely with software, hardware, firmware, project and product specialists
  • Supporting continuous improvements to validation processes, automation and test methodology

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
