We're looking for a Software Validation & Verification Engineer to join an exciting satellite programme. You'll help test and validate the software that controls advanced telecommunications satellites, making sure everything works correctly before it is released.

Working Environment
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll work directly with specialist test equipment and satellite systems.
- Mainly based onsite in Portsmouth
- Up to 1 day per week remote working may be possible depending on project needs
- Two days per week working 14:00-22:00 to support testing activities
- Work alongside experienced software, systems, and RF engineers
What you'll be doing
- Create and run automated test scripts using Java
- Test software against requirements and expected behaviour
- Carry out functional, integration, and regression testing
- Set up and use simulation and hardware test environments
- Work with RF equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analysers, and modems
- Investigate issues, analyse test results, and identify root causes
- Write test reports and maintain test documentation
- Work closely with software, systems, and test engineers across the UK and Europe

What we're looking for
- Experience in software testing, verification, validation, or integration testing
- Good Java programming skills
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Experience testing both software and hardware systems
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with tools such as Git, SVN, Jira, and Confluence
- RF, telecommunications, satellite communications, or space industry experience
- Knowledge of CCSDS standards, Python, aerospace/defence systems, or simulation environments would be advantageous
