Our Team
The Product Delivery team are responsible for delivering transformative change for UKTV across major products within the media supply chain. Our team consists of Product Managers, Business Analysts, Software Delivery Managers, Service Delivery Managers and Support & Change Analysts.
We are focused on delivering functionality that provides key business and user improvement. As well as delivering change on time and within budget, the team also enable the business to define and prioritise the technical, commercial and operational work key for UKTV. Working with teams across the company they deliver UKTV’s future.
The team are delivery focused but fun to work with and have great relationships with internal teams and 3rd party suppliers.
Purpose of the role
It is a truly exciting time to join UKTV as we are embarking on an ambitious multi-year plan to expand UKTV’s position in the UK market. A key component of this expansion is the evolution, management, development and delivery of the Products and services that are key to UKTV and relevant to BBC Studios.
The Software Delivery Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of software products and platforms across agile Scrum teams that support the organisation's broadcast, media, digital and operational technology capabilities.
Working closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Development and Engineering Leads, QA teams and business stakeholders, the Software Delivery Manager ensures that cross-functional teams deliver high quality software solutions efficiently, predictably and in alignment with business objectives.
This role combines delivery leadership, agile coaching, stakeholder management and continuous improvement to maximise team performance and value delivery. The successful candidate will have experience working on direct to consumer VOD platforms, BVOD platforms, Media Asset Management, Scheduling, Rights, Compliance, Linear Playout and infrastructure solutions.

Essential
- Significant experience delivering software products within Agile Scrum environments.
- Experience managing multiple software delivery teams simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban and Lean delivery principles.
- Experience working closely with Product Management and Engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies and competing priorities.
- Experience with delivery tooling such as:
- Jira
- Confluence
- BitBucket
- GitHub
- CI/CD platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable
- Experience within broadcasting, media, streaming or digital content organisations.
- Understanding of media workflows, content supply chains and broadcast operations.
- Experience delivering cloud-native platforms (AWS).
- Knowledge of DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Scrum Master, AgilePM, SAFe or equivalent certification.
- Knowledge
An Engineer with experience working closely with user and technical teams to support Broadcast and VOD services. Strong experience working with various applications and major vendors across the Broadcast Media Supply chain. Beneficial experience might be: Digital Asset Management, Video on Demand, Linear Playout, Workflow Management or Schedule Management solutions. Strong working knowledge of Amazon Web Services solutions. Understanding of various broadcast standards, video, audio and metadata variants across transmission, VOD and streaming. An excellent communicator with the ability to investigate, prioritise and resolve issues in a timely manner. Comfortable working closely with stakeholders/users, business analysts, developers, testers, architects and project managers in a delivery-focussed team. Experienced producing documentation appropriate for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Agile Delivery Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of software products and technology initiatives using Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Facilitate and optimise Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews and Retrospectives.
- Ensure delivery teams maintain a sustainable pace while meeting agreed business outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement through data-driven delivery practices and team coaching.
- Support teams in removing impediments and managing dependencies across multiple workstreams.
Planning & Delivery Management
- Partner with Product Managers to translate strategic roadmaps into executable delivery plans.
- Manage sprint and release planning activities.
- Track progress against delivery milestones and commitments.
- Ensure transparent reporting of delivery status, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Maintain delivery governance and appropriate controls without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.

Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships across Product, Technology, Broadcast Operations and Business functions.
- Communicate delivery progress clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Manage expectations around scope, timelines, risks and capacity.
- Facilitate decision-making and escalation where required.
Team Enablement
- Foster high-performing, self-organising agile teams.
- Coach teams in Agile and Scrum best practices.
- Support Engineering Leads and Product Managers in balancing delivery priorities, technical debt and innovation.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous learning.
Risk & Dependency Management
- Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation plans.
- Manage inter-team dependencies and coordinate delivery across multiple squads.
- Ensure operational readiness for production deployments.
- Support incident reviews and drive improvements from lessons learned.
Metrics & Reporting
- Establish and monitor key delivery metrics including:
- Sprint predictability
- Velocity trends
- Lead time
- Cycle time
- Deployment frequency
- Defect rates
- Team health indicators
- Use metrics to drive continuous improvement rather than performance management.
