Solar & Battery Back End Team Lead
Are you ready to advance your career within the Renewables department? We are currently seeking a Full-Time Solar & Battery Back End Team Lead to guide our back-end operations based on-site in Leeds. In this mid-level leadership role, you will be instrumental in coordinating daily workloads, coaching team members, supporting MCS registrations, and ensuring post-installation cases progress smoothly through to customer handover. If you have a strong understanding of Solar PV, Battery Storage, and DNO commissioning processes, combined with excellent problem-solving skills and previous experience in a team-leading role, this is a fantastic opportunity to drive process improvements and support our Grid Connections Manager.
The Role
To provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Solar & Battery Back End team, coordinating workloads, supporting colleagues, managing first-line escalations and ensuring post-installation cases are progressed effectively and within agreed timescales.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to the Back End team.
- Allocate and prioritise workloads, ensuring post-installation tasks are completed effectively.
- Support the team with MCS registration, certification and DNO commissioning activities.
- Oversee outstanding post-installation requirements and support the progression of cases through to customer handover.
- Manage and monitor the Intercom inbox, ensuring customer and DNO enquiries are responded to promptly and appropriately.
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex cases, customer concerns and DNO issues, escalating to the Grid Connections Manager where required.
- Monitor team workload, case ageing and key SLAs, providing relevant reporting and updates to the Grid Connections Manager.
- Liaise with Technical and other teams to support smooth case progression.
- Identify recurring issues, training needs and opportunities to improve processes and customer experience.
- Support the Grid Connections Manager with wider operational projects, process changes and team performance activity.

Skills / Experience
- Previous experience in a team-leading, senior administration or operational role.
- Strong understanding of Solar PV, Battery Storage, MCS and DNO commissioning processes.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and make effective decisions.
- Confident managing escalations and challenging situations.
- Ability to coach and support team members.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with technical and compliance information.
- Experience in renewables, utilities, MCS or DNO processes desirable.
