Role Description
The Solar Electrician is a full-time, on-site role based in Scorrier, responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and associated electrical infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include:

- Planning and carrying out solar panel installations
- Wiring inverters and control systems
- Performing routine maintenance
- Diagnosing and repairing faults in solar and general electrical systems

The role involves interpreting technical drawings and specifications, completing testing and certification in line with regulations, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards. The Solar Electrician will work closely with other electricians and project team members, interact with clients on-site, and contribute to efficient, sustainable energy solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of electricity principles and safe electrical practices, particularly in solar PV systems.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical work, including installation and wiring of residential, commercial, or industrial systems.
- Skills in maintenance & repair of solar and general electrical equipment to ensure reliable performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and solar system issues using diagnostic tools and systematic problem-solving.
- Background in electrical engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent), with current certifications and compliance with local regulations.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes for solar PV installations and testing procedures.
- Comfort working at height and in varied outdoor conditions, following health and safety requirements.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and with clients.
- Valid driver’s license and flexibility to travel to different job sites as needed.
