Lime is one of the UK’s fastest-growing solar companies, with a 4.9/5★ Trustpilot rating and a brand that’s becoming increasingly hard to miss.
From sponsoring Motherwell FC to regular advertising on STV Radio, Lime is already a name people recognise across Scotland — and we’re growing rapidly across England and Wales too.
We’re looking for an experienced Solar Roofer to join the team and help us deliver high-quality solar installations across the UK, but in this instance specifically Cardiff/ South Wales.
If you’re a roofer who knows your way around every type of domestic roof and has hands-on experience installing solar panels, we want to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Solar Roofer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality solar PV installations for domestic customers. You’ll be responsible for preparing roofs, installing solar mounting systems and panels, and ensuring every installation is completed safely and to a high standard.
Role Responsibilities:
- Carry out the safe and professional installation of solar PV panels and mounting systems across a range of domestic roof types.
- Assess roof conditions and identify any potential issues before and during installation.
- Install roof hooks, rails, brackets and associated solar mounting equipment correctly.
- Work across a variety of domestic roofing materials, including tile, slate and other common roof types.
- Ensure all roof penetrations, flashings and waterproofing are completed to a high standard.
- Work closely with Solar Electricians and other members of the installation team to ensure projects are completed efficiently.
- Handle solar panels and roofing materials safely and professionally.
- Carry out roof repairs or remedial works where required as part of the installation process.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety requirements, building regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment on every installation.
- Complete installation paperwork and report any issues or defects identified on site.
- Provide a professional and respectful service to customers while working in and around their homes.
- Take pride in the quality of workmanship and ensure installations meet Lime’s high standards.
- Follow Lime’s health and safety procedures and contribute to a positive safety culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
