We’re hiring – Solar Operations Manager

PV Plus is growing and we’re looking for an experienced Solar Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of our commercial solar PV projects across the South of England and London.

This is a primarily field-based role, with most of your time spent visiting and managing live projects rather than working from the office.

You’ll be responsible for overseeing multiple projects, managing site teams and subcontractors, monitoring progress and quality, resolving issues and making sure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

We’re looking for someone with previous experience as a Site Manager, Project Manager, Operations Manager or in a similar site-based management role. Your experience does not necessarily need to be within solar.

A background in construction, electrical, M&E, roofing, renewables or a similar industry would all be relevant. Solar PV experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential.

What matters most is that you are organised, technically minded, confident managing people and comfortable taking ownership of multiple live projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
