Astute’s Renewables Team is partnering with a leading renewable energy business specialising in the operation, revamping and repowering of utility-scale solar PV assets, to recruit a Project Manager for its growing UK operation.
The strategically important Project Manager role comes with a starting salary up to £50,000 DOE, bonus, pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and an excellent range of wellbeing and development benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the Project Manager role
Reporting Directly To The Head Of Construction, You Will
- Lead the delivery of utility-scale solar PV revamping, repowering and additional services projects from proposal and pre-construction through to technical design, feasibility, permitting, construction, commissioning and client handover.
- Promote and maintain a strong Safety First culture across all aspects of project delivery, ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans, managing programmes, resources, milestones and deliverables to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required quality standards.
- Manage all aspects of construction delivery, including site preparation, civil works, electrical installation and commissioning.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, construction personnel, subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring effective communication, collaboration and performance.
- Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues and opportunities, implementing appropriate mitigation and corrective actions.
- Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure and variances, and implement cost-control measures where required.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including programmes, reports, risk assessments, change control and other project records.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, including investors, landowners, regulatory bodies and local communities.
- Ensure projects are delivered within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ Project Management experience.
- 3+ years’ experience managing large-scale construction projects.
- Strong technical understanding of Solar PV systems, industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing contracts, budgets and the financial implications of project decisions.
- Proven experience leading project teams and managing subcontractors, suppliers and construction personnel.
- Experience managing multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
- Strong understanding of project controls, including programmes, reporting, risk and issues management, change control and project documentation.
- Ability to work proactively and take ownership of project delivery.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Desirable Qualifications And Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy or a related discipline.
- Health and safety qualification such as SMSTS.
- Experience specifically within utility-scale solar PV, renewable energy or energy infrastructure projects.
