About the Role

RINA is seeking an experienced Site Representative to provide full-time on-site oversight during the construction of a utility-scale solar PV project in the UK. Acting on behalf of the Client, the Site Representative will monitor construction activities, quality, health and safety performance, environmental compliance, and contractual obligations throughout the EPC and ICP delivery phases.

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced construction professional with a proven track record in the delivery of utility-scale solar PV projects in the UK. The role will serve as the Client's on-site representative and will work closely with RINA's technical back-office team to identify risks, monitor project progress, and ensure construction works are executed in accordance with contractual, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction progress against EPC and ICP contract requirements, project schedules, and key milestones.
  • Monitor the delivery, storage, and handling of equipment and materials on site.
  • Review the implementation of EPC and ICP contractor QA/QC procedures and quality management systems.
  • Assess construction quality and workmanship against approved specifications, drawings, and standards.
  • Maintain construction punch lists and support contractors in the timely rectification of defects and non-conformances.
  • Monitor compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and promote a positive safety culture on site.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations and relevant UK construction legislation.
  • Monitor interfaces between contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Witness key construction, testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover activities.
  • Liaise with contractors, the Client, and RINA technical specialists to identify, escalate, and resolve project issues.
  • Prepare weekly progress reports summarising site activities, achievements, risks, safety observations, and key project developments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
