The Opportunity
The Soldier Systems Product Manager will have a strong background in Soldier Systems, including dismounted, mounted and fixed site communications, edge compute, networking and mission applications. As an integral part of the CTO Office team, the Soldier Systems Product Manager will report to the VP Soldier Systems and interface with end users, Sales, Finance, Engineering, Customer Service, and other business functions. They will provide product management capability for a dedicated product family, covering both DTC and third-party products.
As an interface between the business and the market, they will be responsible for new product business cases, competitor analysis, requirements capture, customer voice during Engineering project development, pricing, GTM and product life cycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Family Roadmap(s) – under the leadership of the VP Soldier Systems, own an assigned product family roadmap(s). Ensure that the roadmaps are accurate and up-to-date and every product has a current competitor analysis and GTM timeline.
- Business Cases – With support, create business cases for products in the assigned roadmap(s), capture high-level requirements, work with Engineering and Sales to get estimates of cash inflows and outflows and perform financial analysis (NPV, IRR and payback period) and follow the formal Engineering Project Approval Process to get the business case approved.
- Product Management Reviews (PM Reviews) – work closely with Engineering project teams to ensure captured requirements are implemented and the developed product is fit for purpose. Conduct periodic PM Reviews of developed functionality to provide “customer voice” feedback to Engineering.
- Go-To-Market (GTM) Timeline – create and own GTM timeline for every product on the assigned roadmap(s) and drive timeline execution with other business functions (Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Manufacturing) to the product launch.
- Product Pricing and Part Numbers – in collaboration with the VP Soldier Systems, set up part numbers (SAP and SF) and assign list pricing, discount structure and product categories for the newly developed products in the assigned roadmap(s). Work closely with the Sales Support team to create and update Product Configurators as required. Participate in the regular price reviews for the assigned product families.
- Product Life Cycle - own and manage the assigned product family throughout its lifecycle and ensure its relevance from initial concept to sundowning of the capability.
- Marketing and Sales Materials – as part of Engineering project deliverables, work with the Marketing team to ensure that developed products have comprehensive datasheets, a website product page and info sheets and/or a product catalogue entry.
- Technical Presentations - present DTC technology and solutions internally and to customers in support of the global sales motion.
- Bid and Proposal Writing - review bids and proposals and provide necessary technical input as required.

What We Are Looking For

- Product Management experience is essential
- Knowledge of current Soldier Systems, global industry trends and programmes is essential
- Strong knowledge of Military compliance and standards
- Familiarity with and ability to use RF and general electronics lab test equipment
- Commercial awareness and experience in a customer facing role
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Bidding, estimating and proposal writing experience is desirable
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or associated discipline
- In depth knowledge of modern wireless communications technologies, including IP Mesh systems
- Strong understanding of IP networking fundamentals
- Domestic and international travel will be required
- Security Clearance is desirable for this role
