Join Phoenix Legal Solicitors

Phoenix Legal Solicitors is looking for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our growing team.

We are a national law firm with a strong focus on personal injury, medical negligence, and serious and catastrophic injury claims. We are committed to securing justice for individuals who have suffered injury or loss through no fault of their own and to providing our clients with clear, compassionate, and expert legal representation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced clinical negligence lawyer who wants to take ownership of high-quality work and play an important part in the continued development of our Clinical Negligence department.

You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters, working closely with colleagues, medical experts, counsel, and other professionals to progress claims efficiently and achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients.

The Role

As a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, you will be responsible for independently managing a varied caseload from initial investigation through to settlement or litigation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own caseload of clinical negligence claims proactively and effectively.
  • Assessing liability, causation, and quantum and developing appropriate case strategies.
  • Obtaining and analyzing medical records and other evidence.
  • Identifying and instructing appropriate medical experts and counsel.
  • Drafting Letters of Claim, witness statements, schedules, and other legal documentation.
  • Conducting settlement negotiations and advising clients on offers.
  • Issuing and progressing court proceedings where required.
  • Ensuring limitation dates, court deadlines, and procedural requirements are identified and complied with.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case records and time recording.
  • Managing cases with appropriate commercial awareness, including consideration of proportionality, costs, and prospects of success.
  • Providing clients with clear, practical, and compassionate advice throughout their claim.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to progress cases and deliver a consistently high standard of client service.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to more junior members of the team where appropriate.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Clinical Negligence department and Phoenix Legal Solicitors more broadly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
