About HF

People. Not just lawyers.

We're not your typical law firm. We're people with a passion for helping our clients and each other achieve the best possible outcomes. We are leading legal advisers to the insurance and commercial sectors across the UK & Ireland, known for our innovation, client focus, and long-lasting relationships.

We do things differently, with a forward-thinking approach built around our clients' needs, supported by cutting-edge technology and a culture built around people from a wide range of backgrounds who are taking an equally wide range of routes to building their careers in law.

Our Legal Expenses Insurance (LEI) team is a busy, collaborative and growing practice that provides expert legal advice and representation to insurers, policyholders and commercial clients across a wide range of disputes. The team handles both litigated and pre-litigation matters, with particular expertise in property litigation, landlord and tenant disputes, and insurance-funded claims. Working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, you'll have the opportunity to build specialist technical expertise whilst developing strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of an ambitious and supportive team.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing a varied caseload of insurance-funded disputes and advisory matters from inception through to resolution.
  • Advising on a broad range of property litigation matters, including landlord and tenant disputes, possession proceedings, rent arrears recovery, boundary disputes, nuisance claims, rights of way and other contentious property matters.
  • Conducting policy coverage assessments and providing strategic, commercially focused advice to insurers and policyholders.
  • Drafting clear and concise pleadings, correspondence, reports and legal advice.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with insurer clients, brokers and policyholders, delivering an excellent client experience.
  • Managing client communications, providing regular updates and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborating with partners and senior lawyers on complex and high-value cases while managing your own workload with appropriate autonomy.
  • Supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Assisting with business development activities, including legal updates, client training, seminars and insurer-led events.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Legal Expenses Insurance team and its service offering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
