Residential Property Solicitor | 4+ Years PQE | Bournemouth

A well-established name across Dorset and Somerset, with deep local roots and a reputation for making the complicated simple, it is looking for an experienced residential property Solicitor to join its Bournemouth office. This is not a volume conveyancing factory, the team handles a steady diet of quality residential work.

The office is based in a prime Bournemouth location, part of a network of branches that gives the firm coverage across the region. You will work alongside several highly experienced land lawyers, but the expectation is that you can operate independently from day one. You know how to manage your own files, you understand the Land Registry inside out, and you have probably started to guide more junior colleagues or support staff in a previous role. There is a clear path here for someone who wants to step up.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing a full residential property caseload, from initial instruction through to completion and post-completion matters
  • Handling freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, lease extensions, transfers of equity, and remortgages
  • Advising clients clearly and practically, translating legal complexities into plain English
  • Working collaboratively with experienced colleagues while taking full ownership of your own files
  • Providing guidance and support to less experienced fee earners and support staff
  • Contributing to the firm's business development efforts, including networking and building a local profile

About you

You are a solicitor or chartered legal executive with at least four years' experience in residential property. You can run a full caseload without supervision, and you take pride in getting the detail right. You communicate well, both with clients and with colleagues, and you understand that a conveyancing transaction is one of the most important things in a client's life at that moment. You are organised, reliable, and commercially aware. You are looking for a firm where you can build a long-term career, not just clock up completions.
