Within this, our growing Management Liability & Financial Lines practice advises insurers, corporate policyholders, financial institutions, directors, officers and professionals across a wide range of sectors.

Working closely with market-leading Partners and specialists, the team handles claims and coverage disputes arising from Directors' & Officers' Liability (D&O), Professional Indemnity (PI), Financial Institutions (FI), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Cyber and Crime policies. The team is known for delivering commercially focused advice on some of the most challenging and high-profile matters in the market.

We are currently recruiting for an Solicitor to join our growing Management Liability & Financial Lines team in London.

Working directly with Partners and senior lawyers, you'll manage a varied caseload of management liability and financial lines matters, acting primarily for insurers and their insureds under a dual retainer.

Your Work Will Include

  • Managing claims and disputes from first notification through to resolution.
  • Advising on matters arising under D&O, PI, FI, EPL, Cyber and Crime policies.
  • Analysing coverage positions and preparing detailed coverage advice.
  • Drafting coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters and declinature correspondence.
  • Handling litigation, arbitration, mediation and settlement negotiations.
  • Investigating liability, causation, quantum and indemnity issues.
  • Preparing pleadings, witness statements, expert evidence and court documentation.
  • Liaising with counsel, experts, forensic accountants and specialist advisers.
  • Advising insurers on claims investigations and complex coverage disputes.
  • Working with high-profile corporate entities, financial institutions, directors, officers and professionals across a variety of industry sectors.
  • Supporting clients through risk management initiatives, policy development, claims trend analysis and technical training.
  • Contributing to legal updates, thought leadership, seminars and business development activities.
  • Playing an important role in building and maintaining client relationships, supporting junior colleagues and contributing to the continued growth of the Management Liability & Financial Lines practice.

What do I need?

We're interested in hearing from qualified Solicitors who have experience in management of liability, financial lines, professional indemnity, insurance litigation, or commercial disputes.

You'll Ideally Have

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales.
  • Experience advising insurers and/or corporate policyholders.
  • Strong policy coverage analysis skills.
  • Experience handling complex litigation and dispute resolution matters.
  • Excellent technical legal knowledge and commercial awareness.
  • Strong drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach to working with colleagues and clients.
  • An interest in business development, networking and market engagement.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgement.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
