The role
We’re looking for colleagues who want to share in the success of our leading social care practice. You’ll be passionate about social care, and committed to delivering clear, pragmatic advice to clients responsible for delivering this essential public service.
We’re primarily looking to recruit at Associate level, though we welcome applications from those approaching qualification or seeking a Senior Associate role. We’re committed to working with the right candidate to understand their strengths and areas for development, supporting them to build their knowledge and experience within this role.
If you’re more senior, this particular role may not be the right fit – but if you believe you have something to offer our practice, we’d love to hear from you at recruitment@brownejacobson.com.
Our practice is at the forefront of social care, an area in which policy and legal developments, and clients’ ongoing work to transform services mean that there are always opportunities to break new legal ground. We have an essential role in supporting our client with the most complex and high profile scenarios that arise in social care. This means that everyone in our team gets the opportunity to build a portfolio of varied and interesting work which will help them build their knowledge, their personal brand, and their career.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
