Job Title: Dispute Resolution Solicitor (3+ years PQE)
Location: Glasgow or Edinburgh, City Centre
Working hours: 35 hours Monday – Friday 09:00 – 17:00
Jones Whyte's Dispute Resolution team handles some of Scotland's most complex commercial litigation, from high-value contract disputes to contentious property and employment matters. This is a role where you'll run files with real autonomy, supported by a team that takes the time to do things effectively.

The Role
As a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution department, we will require you to manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes and to represent clients in courts across Scotland. The ideal candidate will be client focused and proactive with a positive attitude and flexible approach. You will be a strong team player with excellent communication and technical skills.

Responsibilities
- Acting on behalf of clients in the resolution of contentious issues, including conducting hearings in the Sheriff Courts and the Court of Session
- Providing advocacy in tribunals, arbitration, and mediation
- Taking statements, attending consultations, drafting pleadings, instructing expert witnesses, preparing cases for proofs/debates
- Actively participating in business development opportunities
- Working collaboratively and flexibly with other team members
- Working closely with experts and ensuring counsel are instructed accordingly where required

Requirements
- Strong work ethic and team player
- 3+ years PQE within a Dispute Resolution firm/department
- Strong technical knowledge
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Positive outlook
- Proactive and responsive to clients' demands
- Ability to liaise effectively with peers and clients at various levels of seniority
