Our client is a highly regarded specialist law firm with a strong reputation for its work within the charity and not-for-profit sector. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Charity Governance Solicitor to join their specialist team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with a genuine interest in the charity sector who wants to work somewhere where the sector is central to the firm's work and values.

The opportunity

You will provide high-quality legal advice to charity clients, managing your own caseload while also contributing to larger projects as part of a wider team.

  • Providing practical and commercially focused advice to charity clients
  • Advising on regulatory matters, including Charity Commission requirements
  • Drafting and reviewing governing documents
  • Advising on charity mergers
  • Supervising charity registration work
  • Advising on the establishment of trading subsidiaries
  • Managing matters from initial instruction through to completion
  • Building strong and lasting client relationships
  • Managing files and billing
  • Supervising and developing paralegals and junior colleagues

We’re looking for a solicitor with:

  • Previous experience working within charity governance
  • Strong legal drafting skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent client care and communication skills
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a caseload effectively
  • Experience supervising and developing junior colleagues
  • A collaborative and team-focused approach
  • A genuine interest in the charity and not-for-profit sector
