Description

Due to continued success and growth, DAC Beachcroft’s Casualty Injury team is seeking to appoint an experienced lawyer to join our market leading team that works with over 40 insurance companies and self-insured corporates, managing a caseload of EL/PL claims valued up to £100k.

This role is open to experienced paralegals, Solicitors, or CILEx Lawyers.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and well-respected team handling EL/PL claims on behalf of Defendants, valued up to £100k, with exposure to more complex matters under the guidance of experienced supervisors and senior lawyers. Full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you thrive in the role.

What you will do?

You are expected to provide a timely, professional, and high-quality service to our clients in the management of claims. With the support of a supervisor and team manager, you will be expected to:

  • Be responsible for a varied caseload of pre-litigated and litigated work.
  • Screen matters for prospects and liaise with clients upon receipt of instructions.
  • Review instructions and provide client advice on case prospects.
  • Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards.
  • Instruct experts and counsel, draft Witness Statements, and other Court documents.
  • Maintain contact with our clients and their customers while proactively managing their expectations.
  • Meet individual performance measures (financial performance, realization rates, and other KPIs).
  • Support the Team Partners in delivering case clinics/surgeries/training to clients.
  • Support the Team supervisors in training and mentoring junior colleagues.
  • Authorized lawyers will support the supervision of entry-level paralegal colleagues.
  • Ensure that the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards are maintained.

Who you are

This role is suited to experienced EL/PL claims practitioners, particularly those likely to be allocated to the Intermediate or Multi Track.

  • An experienced Paralegal or a qualified solicitor/CILEx equivalent with previous experience in employers' liability and public claims.
  • Proven communication skills at all levels.
  • Excellent relationship and client handling skills. Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues, as well as able to demonstrate a reasonable level of self-sufficiency, combined with an awareness of the boundaries of own competence/authority.
  • An ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an ‘academic’ approach to legal issues.
  • Change-oriented with a positive, flexible approach towards the implementation of new initiatives.
  • Team-oriented and collegiate with a willingness to share knowledge with and support other members of the team.
  • Demonstrates alignment with the Firm’s Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined, and Supportive).
