We are delighted to announce that we are looking for a 0-4 year PQE Solicitor or CILEX Lawyer to join our Property Recoveries team on a permanent basis.

This is a claimant-focused role, working on property damage insurance recovery claims arising from a range of perils, including fire, flood, impact and escape of water.

The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a varied caseload of pre-litigated and litigated property recovery claims typically valued between £10,000 and £100,000, with opportunities to gain exposure to higher-value and more complex recoveries as experience develops.

What you will do?

• Working within one of our Property Recoveries teams in a predominantly claimant-based role.
• Undertaking a range of property recovery work, including investigatory tasks across fast track and intermediate track claims.
• Investigating liability on a variety of recovery claims arising from perils such as escape of water, flooding, impact and fire damage.
• Managing your own caseload of pre-litigated and litigated property recovery claims, including negotiating quantum and settlement of damages with third parties.
• Obtaining witness statements, liaising with relevant parties to obtain key documentation, drafting letters of claim, issuing proceedings, managing disclosure, instructing Counsel and experts, and progressing claims through to trial.
• Assisting on larger and more complex litigated matters where appropriate.
• Supporting marketing and business development activities within the team.
• Maintaining an awareness of the firm's core strategies and objectives, whilst handling confidential information in accordance with the firm's data security protocols.
• Ensuring full compliance with client and internal protocols relating to billing and credit control, and demonstrating strong financial management of your files.
• Achieving key performance measures, including a minimum annual target of 1,440 chargeable hours.
